POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Software Development Engineer - Full Stack includes closely working with a team of engineers to drive delivery excellence, partner with business and other IT leaders to build digital assets, provide expert level support to resolve complex issues and provide RCA, identify gaps in systems in current digital eco system and provide solutions to enhance overall performance. All of this is critical to driving Digital growth and improving customer experience. This individual will collaborate with digital leaders, business partners, and IT colleagues to deliver business growth and great customer experiences that differentiate CVS in the market, while ensuring efficient, effective, and safe product development.
 
What we Expect of You:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of SOS/Catalog/Store Locator Backend Services using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Search, NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra), Kafka
  • Act as a technical owner across strategic efforts involving the Cloud, backend solution, streaming, ML and more within Catalog
  • Implement pub/sub messaging solutions using Kafka, ensuring reliable and efficient data flow between services
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior developers and champion best practices in software development and testing
  • Integrate cloud-based services into application architecture, ensuring optimal performance and security of cloud-native applications
  • Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment to enhance and secure the software supply chain
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues in the applications, identifying root causes and implementing robust fixes
  • Continuously optimize application performance and scalability through code improvements, cloud service optimizations, and infrastructure as code practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and tools, and proactively suggest new approaches to improve the software development process
  • Partner with technical leaders within CVS and the open source community and contribute to product strategy, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements-gathering
  • Promote reusability of API’s across various clients while offering configurations
  • Encourage and maintain engineering excellence on the team to build reliable distributed systems that our customers can build their business on
  • Develop mindshare by collaborating and discussing ideas
  • Plot and execute on the path from prototype to production for features

 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and application program development including front end and backend
  • 5+ years of development experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, SpringBoot, Search, NoSQL and/or Kafka
  • 5+ years of experience within an Agile software development
  • 3+ years of Web application development experience using Angular JS/React, CSS, Html, Javascript and/or Nodejs
  • 3+ years of experience building Enterprise solutions and managing client requirements and technical solutions
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies; possess a track record developing in GCP/Azure or similar public cloud environment
  • 2+ years of experience in a DevOps role working with various technologies like Kubernetes, Argocd, CircleCI, GIT, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory
  • 2+ years of CI/CD Pipeline automation experience

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence (Vertex AI, Gen AI, GPT 3.5) modeling
  • Familiarity with GraphQL/gRPC
  • Develop and maintain scalable REST and GraphQL APIs as well
  • Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka or equivalent pub/sub messaging systems, including designing and implementing Kafka topics and consumers
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes with a focus on deploying and managing applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with multiple priorities

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
