We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join the fully remote Engineering team at Feedonomics. You will be working with a highly collaborative and cross-functional Backend Engineering team to deliver and scale API models and services that power our robust, high-performance, data-intensive/ETL SaaS platform.
What You'll Do:Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and heavily trafficked applications and services.
Interface with frontend team members to build an effective API layer.
Solve complex infrastructure-related problems with code, developing and providing post-release support for scalable applications.
Research and implement integrations with Third-Party platforms, both internal and external.
Drive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to the product owners and Engineering leadership.
Conduct post-mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.
Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes that solve concrete business problems.
Maintain an exceptional code base via building new and supporting existing backend unit tests.
Generate and automate useful reports for stakeholders, often requiring a deep understanding of database architecture.
5+ years of programming experience in backend languages
2+ years experience with PHP (Strongly preferred), Python, GoLang, Java or a similar programming language
2+ years experience with MySQL or a similar technology
Strong understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability
Strong understanding of scalable data structures (JSON, NDJSON, XML)
Strong understanding of various communication protocols (HTTP, SFTP, etc)
Strong understanding of Distributed Systems
Experience in Caching technologies is a plus (e.g. Redis or Memcached)
Full-stack experience preferred (Angular, AngularJS, or React is ideal)
Ability to develop remotely using the Linux operating system and containerization tools such as Docker
Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field

The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
