About Us:

Wrapbook is the AI platform for production finance. We’re building a system of action that puts finance teams in control of their whole production, from payroll, to spend, to accounting.

Built for feature films, TV, and commercials, Wrapbook is trusted by teams at Netflix, Paramount, Anonymous Content, and more. With backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Jeffrey Katzenberg's WndrCo, our team of 350+ is using AI to transform how finance teams work and empower them to do more with less.

The Opportunity - Senior Software Engineer II, Platform & Enablement (Remote - CANADA)

Wrapbook is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to join PANDA, our platform and technical enablement team. PANDA owns the cross-cutting systems every product team at Wrapbook relies on: the Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), permissions for customers and internal employees, authentication (Auth0/MFA), and notifications. This isn't just a feature team — it's platform infrastructure with deep technical complexity and broad cross-team impact, and the systems you build will be relied on company-wide.

At the Senior II level, you'll be a senior expert and standard-setter — owning complex, multi-stakeholder work, raising the technical bar across the team, and proactively driving team success beyond your own deliverables.

What you'll do:

  • Own and evolve cross-cutting platform systems — approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications — designing and improving complex architectures with an eye toward simplicity, scalability, and backward compatibility

  • Align multiple stakeholders to a plan, empowering contributions from inside and outside the team and function; serve as a trusted partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams

  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, coordinating multiple concurrent efforts and rescuing at-risk projects when needed

  • Set the code quality standard for the team — author code reviewed primarily for strategic alignment, not fundamentals

  • Advocate for and design tech investment projects at the team level, framing them against roadmap priorities

  • Create AI-forward workflows that meaningfully accelerate the team and set the standard for how AI is used and shared broadly

  • Develop teammates with visible multiplier impact — build a continuous learning environment and recognize contributions at all levels

  • Lead and participate in technical interviews for IC and lead engineering positions

  • Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to production issues and partnering with the team to resolve them quickly

What you'll have:

  • You're a full-stack engineer with a strong technical background building production web applications and APIs in Ruby on Rails

  • Architectural depth — you design and improve complex architectures, optimize for simplicity, and set the code quality standard; you understand the risks of changing shared infrastructure and can make deliberate tech debt tradeoffs with business context

  • Multi-stakeholder leadership — you've led complex initiatives across multiple teams, built stakeholder buy-in, and rescued at-risk projects

  • High ownership mentality — self-directed and solution-oriented; you independently prioritize competing short- and long-term goals, balancing inbound requests with self-directed work

  • Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or enablement team — you've built systems that other teams consume and you're comfortable balancing "ship our roadmap" with "unblock everyone else." Bonus points if that experience includes approval workflows, role-based access control (RBAC), or identity/auth products (Auth0, Okta, session management) in a multi-tenant SaaS product

  • Domain and competitive knowledge — you build expertise over time, use data to inform decisions, and align your work with business strategy and roadmap priorities

  • A force-multiplier mindset — you develop teammates with visible multiplier impact, foster a continuous learning environment, and use AI with strong oversight and judgment to build tooling and workflows that address common team pain points

  • Experience with agentic AI tooling, orchestration frameworks, and AI-augmented workflows

  • Experience with technical documentation and planning

  • Excellent communication skills — you match depth and format to audience and medium, synthesize complex input concisely, and are a trusted partner with business stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in two-week cycles with Agile planning

  • Strong SQL skills; PostgreSQL experience is a plus

  • Customer-focused with attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Our Tech Stack:

  • Full stack Ruby on Rails (Frontend & Backend)

  • StimulusJS

  • Redis

  • Sidekiq

  • PostgreSQL

  • Kubernetes

What you need to know about the Ottawa Tech Scene

The capital city of Canada and the nation's fourth-largest urban area, Ottawa has proven a rapidly growing global tech hub. With over 1,800 tech companies, many of which are leaders in their sectors, the city's tech talent now makes up more than 13 percent of its total workforce.
