Join the Cyber-DNS team at CIRA and play a key role in advancing Canada’s cybersecurity and DNS infrastructure! Our Cyber-DNS team is dedicated to protecting Canadians online by delivering cutting-edge solutions.

You’ll tackle projects that make a real difference—including empowering users with CIRA Cybersecurity Awareness Training, securing household and enterprise networks through CIRA Canadian Shield and DNS Firewall, or defending against DDoS attacks with Anycast DNS. This is your chance to be part of a team that’s shaping the future of digital security and DNS technology, making a meaningful difference in how Canadians and global citizens alike experience and trust the internet!

Who you are:

You’re an experienced technical leader who brings deep expertise and a strong commitment to customer outcomes. As a senior individual contributor and primary technical advisor for CIRA’s DNS and cybersecurity products, you lead technical pre-sales activities, from discovery and solution design to technical demonstrations and proposal development. With a particular focus on XDR and other complex cybersecurity solutions, you also provide technical guidance during implementation and post-deployment support.

You are hands-on and customer-focused. You enjoy working directly with clients to understand their needs, troubleshoot complex issues, and translate requirements into scalable solution architectures, clear technical scope, and practical implementation plans. You bring a calm, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

You communicate clearly with technical, business, and executive audiences. You work collaboratively across Sales, Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Support to deliver strong customer outcomes, strengthen how teams work together, and provide technical leadership and guidance to colleagues without formal people-management responsibility.

What you'll do:

  • Partner closely with sales on discovery calls, technical discussions and product demonstrations, with a focus on XDR solutions and other cybersecurity products.
  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements and solution scope, including statement-of-work documentation and identification of implementation dependencies.
  • Lead RFP responses and commercial proposal preparation in collaboration with sales and technical teams.
  • Set up customer and demo environments and guide customers through setup and configuration of cybersecurity solutions.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for XDR and other cybersecurity products, providing technical expertise throughout the sales process and hands-on guidance to implementation teams when needed.
  • Coordinate technical handoffs from sales to implementation, ensuring teams understand customer requirements, agreed scope and dependencies.
  • Design and deliver training sessions and workshops to enable effective use of product features and benefits.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to deployment and product usage.
  • Produce reports, technical guides, and presentations that demonstrate service value and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to understand needs and provide proactive support.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service delivery systems, onboarding and product customization processes, including supporting documentation.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical pre-sales role in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in the security industry and strong XDR technical expertise; endpoint security experience is highly desired.
  • Skilled in product demonstrations and customer engagement, including discovery calls and requirements and statement-of-work documentation.
  • Experience leading RFP responses and preparing commercial proposals.
  • Competence in setting up customer and demo environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in deploying and troubleshooting workstations (i.e., Linux, Windows, and macOS) and mobile device applications.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate complex technical work and provide hands-on guidance to implementation teams.
  • Demonstrated understanding of service delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and continuous willingness to learn and develop.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise IT environments, scripting, networking, DNS, or firewall technologies is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism in English and French is strongly desired but not required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for large conferences or customer engagements.
