Position: Senior Technology Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Technology Architect with extensive experience in enterprise architecture, database administration, middleware technologies, infrastructure planning, and large-scale system integrations. The successful candidate will provide leadership in architecture design, infrastructure modernization, database support, middleware operations, and enterprise platform sustainment while supporting business-critical applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Design

• Develop, recommend, implement, and manage technical architecture including hardware, software, databases, and communications infrastructure.
  
• Design and architect system and data integration solutions.
  
• Translate business requirements into technical and reporting requirements.
  
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  
• Lead enterprise architecture activities and contribute architecture deliverables and models.
  
• Support IAM modernization initiatives utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID or Oracle IAM.
  
• Design and support Single Sign-On (SSO) architecture solutions.
  

Infrastructure & Platform Support

• Lead infrastructure-related activities including deployments, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
  
• Support analytics platforms and enterprise-wide infrastructure initiatives.
  
• Maintain infrastructure capacity planning and performance optimization.
  
• Support databases, middleware platforms, and related infrastructure environments.
  
• Lead operating system upgrade initiatives across Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments.
  
• Lead database upgrade and migration projects.
  

Database Administration

• Provide administration and support for Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 database environments.
  
• Perform database backup, recovery, export/import, maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization.
  
• Manage database security, access controls, permissions, and recovery plans.
  
• Maintain data standards and technical documentation.
  
• Perform database capacity planning and storage management.
  
• Install, configure, test, and support new database platform versions.
  

Middleware Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, clone, and administer middleware platforms.
  
• Support enterprise middleware operations and infrastructure services.
  
• Perform troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
  
• Support application deployment and environment promotion activities across development, testing, UAT, pre-production, and production environments.
  

Documentation & Governance

• Develop technical documentation including operational procedures, architecture documentation, build books, and programming specifications.
  
• Participate in release management, planning activities, and change assessments.
  
• Capture meeting outcomes and follow up on action items.
  
• Ensure alignment with ITIL-based operational processes and best practices.
  

Required Qualifications

General Skills

• Leadership experience developing and implementing enterprise technical architectures.
  
• Experience across multiple platforms, operating systems, database technologies, and communication protocols.
  
• Strong knowledge of middleware technologies and gateway solutions.
  
• Experience with structured methodologies for design, development, and implementation.
  
• Extensive systems analysis and design experience within large enterprise environments.
  
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes and service management practices.
  
• Experience utilizing CASE tools, project management tools, and related technologies.
  
• Awareness of emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
  

Database & Infrastructure Expertise

• 10+ years of experience with Oracle Database technologies, including Oracle RAC.
  
• Extensive experience supporting Oracle 19c and enterprise database environments.
  
• 10+ years of UNIX (Solaris/Linux) and Windows Server administration experience.
  
• Extensive experience supporting SQL Server environments and SSRS implementations.
  
• Experience with database clustering, Data Guard, Flashback technologies, backup and recovery strategies.
  
• Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning.
  
• Experience with capacity planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives.
  

Middleware & Integration Experience

• Extensive experience with IBM TRIRIGA, WebSphere, and IBM HTTP Server environments.
  
• Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) installation, administration, migration, and upgrades.
  
• Experience designing and implementing system and data integration solutions.
  
• Experience supporting large-scale middleware operations and technology infrastructure.
  
• Experience with Hadoop installation, configuration, and infrastructure design.
  

Communication & Leadership Skills

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguous and conflicting requirements.
  
• Experience communicating with large groups of stakeholders.
  
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks and public sector architecture practices.
  
• Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms.
  
• Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
  
• Experience working within large public sector organizations.
  

Work Arrangement

• 5 days onsite.
