  • Develop and work with opto-mechanical setups that include lasers, optical fibers, electrical probes, polarization controllers, and other optical and electrical equipment to evaluate and characterize photonic devices.
  • Perform device simulations and data analysis to optimize photonic designs and improve performance.
  • Set up and operate both manual and automated testing equipment for optical measurements.
  • Assemble and adjust mechanical setups for photonics and optical experiments.
  • Work independently to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and scientists across multiple projects, demonstrating flexibility in adapting to new tasks.
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all measurements and test results.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master or PhD degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in silicon photonics design and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with testing at the die level, optical fibers, electrical probes, and polarization experiments.
  • Proficiency in device simulations and data analysis.
  • Experience with layout design for photonic devices.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as MATLAB, Python, and Ansys Lumerical.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaborative and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in working with both manual and automated test equipment.
  • Strong mechanical skills for setting up and adjusting optical test stations.
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects and collaborate with various teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in data collection and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with manual and automated optical test setups.
  • Familiarity with optical alignment and laser safety procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in an R&D environment.

Work Environment: You will be part of a friendly and welcoming team where colleagues are always willing to share knowledge and help solve challenges together. We value a balanced mix of independent problem-solving and teamwork, ensuring both personal growth and collective success.

If you are passionate about silicon photonics technology and enjoy working in a supportive, engaging, and dynamic lab setting, we encourage you to apply!
