This function is accountable to the Manager, Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

We are seeking a talented and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. As an SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems. You will work closely with development and operations teams to build and maintain robust infrastructure, automate processes, and improve overall system health

  • Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of our systems and services.
  • Develop and implement automation tools to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
  • Monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable infrastructure.
  • Continuously improve system reliability through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • 2+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or similar role.
  • Background in Linux operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace, CheckMK).
  • Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Good understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with database management and optimization.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with building and maintaining code in Java, JavaScript, and React.
