About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to join our Engineering Excellence Organization. This organization is chartered with maturing engineering competencies and practices across software development, quality engineering, agile methodology, SDLC practices, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
In this role, you will report to the broader Engineering Excellence Organization and play a pivotal role in establishing, evolving, and championing software development standards, engineering processes, and best practices that drive technical excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish & Promote Development Standards

Develop, implement, and maintain consistent software development standards, engineering processes, and best practices for full-stack (front-end and back-end) cloud development.

Advocate software architecture design methodologies to deliver structured, scalable, and secure software solutions that meet technical and operational requirements.
Drive Engineering Excellence

Drive Engineering Excellence focus areas ensuring continuous improvement in development efficiency, quality, and security. Collaborate with leadership to align engineering practices with business & operational objectives.

Lead or nurture developer guild communities, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation.

Mentor and guide engineers to adopt and adhere to established standards, while encouraging continuous learning and improvement.

Leadership input on engineering processes that promote efficiency across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Serve as a thought leader in designing cloud-native applications for AWS, ensuring alignment with modern cloud architecture patterns.
Strategic Hands-on Full-Stack and Analytics Development
-
Contribute to hands-on development of internal engineering excellence applications, focusing on full-stack development (front-end and back-end) and/or analytics/reporting development.

Build analytics and reporting solutions using AWS technologies such as AWS Glue, Airbyte, DBT, Amazon Athena, and visualization tools like QuickSight or Apache Superset.
Champion DevSecOps Practices

Partner with internal application and cloud security teams to champion DevSecOps practices and establish secure software development processes.

Advocate for secure coding practices, automated security testing, and compliance with regulatory standards.
About You
-
10+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years in hands-on senior engineering technical leadership roles, providing architecture and implementation guidance across engineering teams.

Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies such as React, Material-UI, Python Golang.
-
Hands-on experience building scalable applications on AWS.
-
Competency with AWS services such as AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and IAM.

Experience with cloud-native application patterns and serverless architecture.

Hands-on experience with data pipelines: AWS Glue, Airbyte.

Expertise in transformation tools like DBT (Data Build Tool).

Experience with analytics and reporting tools: Amazon QuickSight, Apache Superset, and Amazon Athena.

Strong understanding of secure software development practices, including secure coding, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with security tools and processes (e.g., vulnerability scanning, static code analysis).

Proven ability to lead engineering teams, mentor developers, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Experience building and managing developer communities or guilds.

Understanding of SRE principles and operational excellence metrics.

Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies for software delivery.

Experience working in SaaS product development organizations.
