Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Software Engineer/Developer to join the authentication services team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (DoD HPCMP). This is a virtual position that can be accomplished from anywhere in the continental US.
The successful candidate will support the development, testing, and deployment of authentication and identity management capabilities enabling access to DoD supercomputers and infrastructure across multiple locations. Responsibilities will include working with a team of developers and engineers to review and define configurations, develop and update authentication applications and services, and develop and implement testing processes.
Flexibility in approach to finding solutions is essential, as well as the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities and learn new technologies quickly. Occasional off-hours activity will be required to perform updates and take part in service restoration efforts.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides support in software development phases that include, but are not limited to:
- Design (database, GUI, web services, standalone applications)
- Performance Tuning
- Development and maintenance of authentication applications using multiple languages
- Unit and Integration Testing
- Release/Patch Build
- Deployment/Installation in test and production environments
- Uses applicable methodologies, modeling/estimating techniques, tools, applications, systems, software, and databases to perform assigned tasks.
- Contributes to or develops technical documentation (e.g., Test Cases, Test Plan, updates to application administration documentation)
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelors and four (4-6) years or more of related experience
- Must currently possess an 8570 certification (ex Security+ or higher)
- Must have or be able to obtain a Linux Computing Environment certification (ex. Linux+, RHCE) within 6 months of starting.
- Recent experience with one of C/C++, Python, Perl, or Linux Bash scripting.
- Experience with writing SQL queries, SQL query optimization, and SQL development tools such as Oracle SQL Developer
- Familiarity with agile, waterfall, and hybrid development methodologies
- Familiarity with decomposing requirements to provide estimates for completion
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines consistently
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Familiarity with authentication systems and protocols, including OpenID Connect, and two-factor authentication
- DevSecOps team experience
- GitLab use as a DevOps platform
- MongoDB experience a plus.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
