The successful candidate will join an agile software development team within Ford's Telemetry Control Unit (TCU) organization — an energetic team that works on a variety of features providing functionality that directly impacts end customer experience.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, implementing, and testing new features
  • Supporting downstream teams by investigating issues and resolving defects on the existing code base
  • Optimizing performance and improving robustness of the software
  • Integrating and maintaining software from 3rd party vendors and open source projects
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver cross-functional features spanning multiple embedded systems
Qualifications

You'll have... 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in programming/computer science/engineering-related program. 

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in:
     - C++ (11 or newer).
     - Object-oriented programming concepts.
     - POSIX-compliant/certified embedded operating systems (e.g., Linux, QNX).
     - Development tools (e.g., git, repo, make, gcc, g++, gdb).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience

  • DoIP (Diagnostics over IP).
  • Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
  • Networking technologies (e.g., Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, ICMP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
  • Packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Cellular wireless technologies.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $89,000.00 - $139,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
