Location: This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week in the Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting high-quality software solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with your squad in short sprints or kanban to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain robust and scalable services on the Trend Vision One™ Platform across AWS/Azure and GCP.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including product managers, UX designers, and other engineers, to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.

  • Deliver incremental improvements or features to production multiple times a day using a modern CI/CD deployment pipeline.

  • Write non-application code, such as infrastructure as code, unit tests, metrics, monitoring, alarms, etc.

  • Own and operate your team's services, respond to business-hours incidents, and participate in blameless post-incident reviews.

  • Take time for learning and continuous improvement, with opportunities to learn and teach skills across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related fields AND 3+ years of experience in cloud native backend solution development OR equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency with Java, Golang, Python and /or JavaScript.

  • Experience with large-scale, resilient microservice, event-driven architectures and REST API development.

  • Experience with DevSecOps, including automated CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, security enforcement and production observability.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Continuous learning mindset, with a passion for keeping up with industry trends and technologies.

  • Customer-oriented and proactive in helping customers solve their security needs quickly and completely.

For applicants in the province of Ontario, Trend Micro Canada is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary for this role is CAD $105,000.00 - $130,000.00. A candidate’s final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors to include, but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
