The Procurement team leads the development of innovative features that simplify and optimise the procurement process for our customers. From vendor selection and supplier onboarding to contract management, purchase requisitions, and invoice processing, we build tools that ensure efficiency, transparency, and scalability across all procurement operations.

What you’ll do

As a Software Engineer (Backend), you’ll take end-to-end ownership of backend services that power our procurement product suite. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance systems that are secure, scalable, and easy to evolve.

This role is based in Melbourne.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of backend services, writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

  • Collaborate with your team in technical discussions, code reviews, and design sessions.

  • Build and maintain robust REST APIs following best practices in API development.

  • Support the reliability and scalability of our systems by writing thoughtful code and contributing to monitoring and observability.

  • Participate in Agile processes and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and object-oriented programming (OOP).

  • Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and working with modern backend technologies.

  • Proficiency with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, etc.).

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).

  • Familiar with continuous integration practices and writing testable code.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with Spring Boot or another modern backend framework.

  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes or similar.

  • Some familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk).

  • Interest or experience in the financial domain.
