About the team:

We are seeking a sustaining software engineer with a flair for programming in Java –with a demonstrated history of learning, passionate about maintaining reliable, scalable, observable microservices for enterprise-grade, multi-tenant SaaS products. 

The position will be part of Connectivity and Integrations group which contributes to all facets of the development and maintenance of the SailPoint product line. The product handles enormous amount of data and can be critical to our customers. The person in this role will function as an individual contributor and have excellent software development skills and work closely with SailPoint Development , Support and Customer. You’ll work with teams that are passionate about continuous improvement and agility in a fast-paced environment.  

Responsibilities 

  • Drive the maintenance of efficient, maintainable, robust microservices to deliver medium-to-high complexity features. 

  • Set a high bar for code reviews and fortify the team’s coding/quality standards. 

  • Work in an agile environment, collaborate with peers on code reviews, testing and customer issues. 

  • Develop/adopt testing frameworks, test plans to improve code quality and continuous delivery. 

  • Continue to maintain the “We built it, we maintain it” SailPoint culture:

  • Participate in the product OnCall and TechOps process

  • Devise monitoring capabilities to analyze application behavior and performance

  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and logging for IDN services to proactively monitor, catch, and mitigate potential Staging/Prod impacting issues

  • Leverage training plans and service leads to quickly ramp-up on IDN product and technical knowledge.

  • As a member of a connectivity sustaining engineering team, you will focus on handling customer issues and bug support.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems reported by our customers.

  • Help self and the local members to develop product and technical expertise to become self-sufficient over time to own and maintain services.

Requirements 

  • Must be a US citizen

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience

  • Experience with any object-oriented programming language like Java, C# and desire to work with Golang

  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative demeanor

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and high-growth environment

Desired

  • Experience with Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, AWS

  • SaaS production support experience running on AWS 

  • Experience using SQL/NoSQL, EKS, Kafka, Redis

  • Experience using monitoring, alerting, and visualization tools like Prometheus, Grafana 

  • Familiarity and prior experience with supporting security and compliance of software systems and applications in FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program) or other regulated environments is a plus

     

What success looks like in the role 

Within the first 30 days you will: 

  • Onboard into your new role, get familiar with our product offering and technology, proactively meet peers and stakeholders, set up your test and development environment. 

  • Seek to deeply understand business problems or common engineering challenges and propose software architecture designs to solve them elegantly by abstracting useful common patterns. 

By 90 days:  

  • Good understanding of SailPoint product offerings, Connectivity Infrastructure and top 10 connectors and integrations.

  • Good understanding of software development, release lifecycle, and customer-reported issues triage and investigation process.

  • Know key stakeholders and can proactively collaborate and work independently on triaging and resolving customer-reported issues.  

By 6 months:  

  • Share support of critical team systems by participating in call, learning the characteristics of currently running systems, and participating in improvements. 

  • Occasionally serve as a debugging and implementation expert during escalations of systems issues that have evaded the ability of less experienced engineers to solve in a timely manner. 

  • Collaborates with Support Management and Engineering Manager to quick resolution of escalation.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$91,700 - $131,000 - $170,300

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
