The Software Engineer will modernize financial platforms through cloud transformation, implement microservices architecture, optimize performance, and lead technical initiatives in financial systems.

DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design and recommend solutions for financial platforms modernization: Propose microservices architecture for margin call platforms; Spearhead modernization of collateral management platform to AWS; Develop distributed systems patterns for high-volume financial transactions; and Build resilient design solutions moving billions of collateral. Implement cloud transformation initiatives for financial systems: Develop and propose AWS migration strategies for margin call platforms; Create detailed technical designs ensuring financial data security; Implement high-availability patterns for critical financial services; and Develop deployment approaches meeting financial regulatory requirements. Lead performance optimization and monitoring initiatives: Design monitoring; Develop performance testing frameworks; Create alerting and monitoring strategies; and Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management. Innovation and architecture evolution: Design serverless architectures; Implement container orchestration solutions; Lead implementation for new AWS services and features; and Design event-driven architectures using AWS services. Provide senior technical expertise in financial domain: Recommend technical solutions for margin call lifecycle management; Mentor team in financial industry best practices and regulations; Contribute to architectural discussions for collateral movement services; and Lead integration with financial platforms. Establish development standards and cloud practices: Define coding standards for cloud-native applications; Establish Cloud security best practices and compliance standards; Create CI/CD pipelines; Implement Cloud infrastructure as code standards; and Design multi-region deployment strategies. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Java development including implementing business logic using Spring Boot framework, developing RESTful APIs with Spring WebFlux and WebClient, creating microservices with Spring Cloud, building distributed systems using Spring State Machine, and implementing security using Spring Security; Cloud technologies including designing AWS- based architectures, developing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, implementing cloud-native patterns, and working with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS); Distributed systems including implementing message-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, developing distributed databases solutions with Cassandra, creating distributed transaction managers, implementing event-driven architectures, and managing distributed state and caching; Implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; Managing source code using Git and Bitbucket; Building projects using Maven and Gradle; Testing methodologies including developing comprehensive unit tests using Junit, creating integration tests for distributed systems, implementing performance tests using JMeter, conducting system integration testing, and performing automated testing and continuous integration; Developing data access patterns for Cassandra; Creating queries for Oracle Database; Implementing metrics collection using Prometheus; Creating dashboards with Grafana; and Setting up log aggregation using ELK Stack.
