Our Engineering team serves as a key driver of innovation at Forward Financing. We build the software that powers a FinTech product that serves Small Businesses across the country. Our application teams are working on exciting initiatives that are modernizing the way we do business. At Forward Financing we are inspired by innovative thinking and continuous improvement. We’re looking for a Software Engineer who will join our application scrum teams and help drive our mission to provide financial opportunity for underserved small businesses.
In this role, you will:

Own the software development life cycle for small-scale complexity features

Actively participate in the software design activities for projects across the team

Proactively develop expertise in the team’s areas of responsibility

Act as a resource for product on technical feasibility and complexity analysis for small features

Promptly address bugs and incidents, and consistently be accessible during core hours

Role Requirements:

Proficiency with at least one modern programming language (Ruby, Javascript, Python, Golang, etc...)

Experience with Ruby preferred

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong understanding of software design patterns

Typically has 2 or more years of experience in agile software development

Typically has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, a certificate from a coding bootcamp, or additional relevant experience
