Position Summary:

The Marketing Specialist is a replacement position that will support and execute national and regional marketing initiatives for TaylorMade Golf in Canada. This role is responsible for managing the Canadian marketing order book, tracking the overall marketing budget, and developing and executing national product seeding programs with a focus on golf balls. Key responsibilities also include planning and activating PGA and amateur sponsorships, recruiting and delivering best-in-class service for emerging high-performance players, and supporting experience and communication plans for TaylorMade Club Professionals. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will contribute to go-to-market planning and execution for product launches throughout the year.

 

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

 

·       Support the development and activation of the Canadian sports marketing pyramid, from young high-performance juniors to Staff Professionals and Tour Professionals.

·       Scout, support, and service emerging Junior, Amateur, College, and Professional players, maintaining an up-to-date database of Team TaylorMade athletes.

·       Coordinate product fittings for high-performance juniors and amateurs, ensuring best-in-class service from order placement through delivery and follow-up.

·       Coordinate all aspects of the TaylorMade Staff Professional program, including communication calendar, user experience, database management, gifting, order fulfilment and custom bag embroidery.

·       Serve as the primary contact for sponsored properties, ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and contractual obligations across amateur and professional associations.

·       Support and activate sponsorships and brand presence at major Canadian golf events, partner activations, and consumer experiential events.

·       Maintain an effective calendar for all key national and regional partnered events, as well as individual playing schedules while tracking results.

·       Coordinate the development of sales support materials and programs, including seeding and promo budgets.

·       Develop plans and implement nationwide ball trial programs in collaboration with sales reps, partners, and individual players.

·       Provide overall marketing order book management, processing and tracking from events to individual orders.

·       Forecast new product needs and manage marketing department inhouse inventory

·       Oversee vendor setup, invoice processing, purchase order management, and maintain accurate marketing budget tracking.

·       Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager to support the execution of the annual marketing plan.

·       Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

 

Education, Work Experience and Professional Certification:

·       Bachelor’s degree in marketing or Sports Marketing, Business Administration or similar related field.

·       Golf industry experience.

·       Customer service-based experience.

·       Experience activating sponsorships and events.

·       Competitive player and Club fitting / golf equipment experience an asset.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

·       High level of golf skills, knowledge and terminology.

·       Understanding of the professional and amateur golf landscape.

·       TaylorMade product knowledge throughout the full lineup.

·       Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.

·       Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) & EBS applications (Oracle).

·       Strong interpersonal/public relations skills and a neat and professional appearance.

·       Exceptional organizational skills.

·       Strong planning and communication skills.

·       Experience managing a budget.

·       Experience managing events.

·       Understanding of club design and swing mechanics including fitting expertise an asset.

·       Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / Indesign and database applications (Oracle) skills an asset.

·       Bilingualism an asset.

 

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

·       Primarily office environment during golf off season.

·       Frequent travel to support events, high performance players, customers, and golf course visits within Canada.

·       Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
