Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sr. Business Analyst - Data and Analytics to join our team. We are on an exciting journey to scale our Data and Analytics capabilities to enable better data-driven decision making across the business.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a very curious personality, hands-on data analysis experience and strong focus understanding business needs and translating them to data solutions.
What You'll Do

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and document business requirements
  • Communicate and collaborate with both internal business stakeholders and technical teams - (including, but not limited to, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, etc)
  • Act as an expert in Data and Analytics and ask the right questions to understand business needs that can be solved through data
  • Propose solutions and educate stakeholders on how Data and Analytics can help them
  • Translate business requirements into data analysis and reporting requirements
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, data quality issues and insights that support business and project objectives
  • Develop Dashboard visual designs, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and visualize requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions to business challenges
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data management systems based on business requirements
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Work with project planning tools to organize and maintain project statuses
  • Monitor and research all defects reported for a product prior to assigning to a developer
  • Contribute or design enablement material to help business users adopt the Data and Analytics end solutions


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 5+ years directly related work experience in a Business Analyst role, with a focus on Analytics and Data
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to handle many high priority and complex task/projects simultaneously
  • The ability to work with deadlines and complete work in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with business process modeling and leading workshops
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field

  • Experience with design tools such as Canva, or similar would be considered a plus
