POSITION DESCRIPTION

ROLE: Senior Project Manager (6-month contract to start)
TEAM: Project Management & Operations, Salt XC
LOCATION: TORONTO | HYBRID (2 days onsite weekly)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Salt is a North American marketing agency that creates connected experiences through creative, digital & media innovation.

Our mission is to “Earn The World’s Attention” and Salt is built to find, develop, execute, and amplify the ideas that are worthy of our clients’ audiences. We’ve structured our agency to do what’s right for our clients – to connect different perspectives, to work across mediums, and to focus on delivering meaningful, effective results.

We’re committed to living up to the values in our name. “Salt of The Earth” means we value collaborative, humble, hard-working people here. We’re looking for people who are as smart as they are kind because we believe the right talent and the right culture help us do what’s right for our clients.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be at the center of how work gets made — turning creative ambition into organized, measurable action. You’ll lead integrated projects and campaigns across multiple clients, ensuring clarity in process, confidence in delivery, and consistency in how teams collaborate.

As one of the first members of our delivery team, you’ll be instrumental in building and weaving project management into the fabric of every client portfolio—driving clarity, consistency, and operational excellence across the agency.

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on creating order from complexity, has the acumen to lead change management, and brings both structure and empathy to every conversation. You’ll think big picture while managing the details, ensuring the work is not only exceptional but delivered with precision.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end management of integrated campaigns and creative projects ranging from $50,000 to $1.5MM in scope.
  • Define scope, deliverables, budgets, and timelines in partnership with Account and Creative leadership.
  • Manage project plans, workflows, and schedules to keep work on track and on time.
  • Partner closely with Account Services to ensure project plans align with client goals, scope, and expectations.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable delivery plans that balance creative excellence with operational efficiency.

Process & Operational Excellence

  • Establish and embed project management frameworks, tools, and best practices across teams.
  • Introduce and refine processes that improve clarity, communication, and accountability.
  • Lead change management initiatives that enable sustainable growth and cross-functional alignment.
  • Champion time management, scope discipline, and proactive risk assessment throughout every project

Financial Management

  • Build and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability and precision in forecasting.
  • Write, manage, and track Statements of Work (SOWs), maintaining accuracy in deliverables and financials.
  • Partner with Account and Finance teams to align project scopes with resource and profitability goals.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Strategy, Production, and Account teams to maintain alignment and momentum.
  • Partner with Resource Management to forecast needs, allocate teams, and balance workloads.
  • Mentor junior project managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of ownership, organization, and clear communication.
  • Model calm leadership, proactive problem-solving, and respect for both the creative process and the people behind it.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 6–10 years of project management experience in a creative or advertising agency environment.
  • Proven ability to manage integrated campaigns and creative projects with budgets.
  • Demonstrated record of staying 2–3 years or more in prior roles, with a track record of building systems and improving workflows.
  • Deep understanding of creative processes, production cycles, and the agency ecosystem.
  • Expert organizational skills — detail-oriented, timeline-driven, and adept at managing competing priorities.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to work closely with Account, Creative, and Production partners.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Float, Asana, Monday.com, or Wrike.
  • Experienced in writing SOWs, managing change requests, and recognizing when work is out of scope.
  • Comfortable leading change and embedding structure into a growing environment.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

  • Salt of the Earth: We lead with humility, honesty, and heart—always.
  • Do What’s Right: No shortcuts. We choose integrity over ease, every time.
  • Earn Your Salt: We roll up our sleeves, chase results, and celebrate the journey.
  • Make Things Better: We’re solution-seekers, always pushing for smarter ways forward.
  • Seek Different Perspectives: Diversity fuels our thinking. Inclusion drives our impact.
