In this position you will act as a Lead Database Programmer and serve as a Subject Matter Expert to internal teams and sponsors. You will act as a mentor/trainer to new members of the team and will help lead new initiatives. This position is also responsible for undertaking the technical activities required to build, test, maintain and archive clinical study databases throughout the duration of a study.

Database Build and Design

  • Create annotated (e) Case Report Forms (eCRF).
  • Build, test, and maintain clinical databases.
  • Program and test automated edit checks.
  •  Gather and document client requirements through collaborative discussions to inform database design and ensure alignment with protocol and operational needs.

Database Programming Support for Ongoing Studies

  • Create and test files necessary for the electronic upload of data.
  • Program and generate data listings for ongoing studies.
  • Program and generate project tracking reports.
  • Perform data transfers.
  • Perform CR publishing requests.
  • Manage database access.
  • Archive electronic data and required documentation on study completion.

Clinical Programming Leadership and Communication

  • Participate in the training of new members of the database programming team and act as a mentor to the overall team.
  • Evaluation, programming exploration, and process development of new systems and/or modules.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert contact to the sponsor to address database issues regarding or relating to area of expertise.
  • Communicate the database set-up status and the achievement of milestones to internal or external project team members.

Qualifcations

  • The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a College Diploma/Degree with 4-6 years of related experience + substantial on-going job-related training.
  • A high level of professional communication skills is a must.
  • Data Management experience is preferred.
  • Direct experience and knowledge in using AWS cloud development with Python (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch) is a strong asset.
