About the role .
The Senior Financial Analyst, Logistics will play a key role in partnering with McCain's Logistics team to achieve the organization's objectives. The Senior Financial Analyst, Logistics will focus on the development and implementation of key performance indicators and reporting to provide insights to drive informed decision making across North America Supply Chain.
The Senior Financial Analyst, Logistics will have strong financial analysis and accounting skills. Responsibilities will include the assembly and analysis of financial data supporting the planning and decision-making processes that ensure profitability and sustainability of McCain Foods. This position identifies opportunities and risks and compares results to relative benchmarks. This position works collaboratively with others, institutes best practices, and challenges the acceptance of status quo demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing.
  • Ensure the accuracy in assumptions, data and understanding of risks and opportunities while preparing quarterly forecasts & annual budget of logistics expense.
  • Collaborate with key financial and functional stakeholders to facilitate timely and accurate logistics expense forecasts.
  • Deliver accurate, insightful, and timely analysis of logistics expense results. Perform investigation of logistics expense variances vs. latest forecasting, highlighting operational drivers and recommend options to resolve or address gaps.
  • Conduct month end close activities surrounding deferred expense, variances and accruals to ensure the accurate reporting of logistics expense.
  • Monitor external logistics expense invoices and timing of spend to assess risks and opportunities to the latest forecast.
  • Enhance month end variance analysis and value-added reporting to highlight operational drivers and support management decision making.
  • Support the finance digital transformation, developing and enhancing automated reporting in Power BI.
  • Provide support and financial analysis on ad hoc projects as needed.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA or MBA a plus.
  • 3+ years of progressive and related experience in financial analysis, financial planning, or accounting.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused, and concise manner.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Business acumen: can explain the story behind the numbers and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to apply broad business perspectives and experiences to identify opportunities & risks.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-oriented, hands-on, highly motivated, and autonomous.
  • Experience with CPG or other food manufacturing companies strongly preferred.

Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 CAD annu ally + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
