**Travel to Office expectations**
For Remote Roles: If this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.

For Hybrid Roles: If this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance team responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. This includes, but is not limited to, Audit Committee materials, investor materials, and financial statements. The successful candidate will support complex transaction accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards and policies. They will also bring a continuous-improvement mindset, with curiosity around leveraging AI and automation to enhance efficiency. The role supports ongoing financial control monitoring through process and risk documentation, control design evaluation, and organization-wide implementation support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual Audit Committee and Board materials, coordinating inputs across finance teams and ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ownership in preparing the US GAAP annual financial statements and note disclosures, supported by appropriate working papers and schedules.
  • Research and prepare technical position papers related to new accounting standards and complex transactions for senior management and external auditors.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting, operating metrics.
  • Act as the primary liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders, managing communications and coordinating audit activities on behalf of the business.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance efficiency and scalability across workflows.
  • Support and enhance R&D capitalization financial reporting processes under ASC 350-40, focusing on accuracy and audit-ready documentation.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives, partnering with finance and business leaders to deliver analysis in support of key finance and reporting objectives.
  • Provide support for month-end close and accounting activities as needed, including analysis and reconciliations.
  • Maintain ownership of the Risk Control Matrix and support ongoing audit and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance internal control processes across key business cycles, including Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, and Payroll.
  • Partner with process owners and department leaders to sustain an effective control frameworks and implement improvements as needed.

Required Experience:

  • CPA designation.
  • 4+ years of progressive finance experience.
  • Big 4 or mid-sized public accounting firm experience an asset.
  • Exposure to advanced analytics, workflow, and automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) considered an asset.
  • Experience or demonstrated curiosity in applying AI and automation within finance and accounting.
  • Significant internal controls experience and understanding of key financial risks.
  • Experience with writing formal reports to Senior Management.
  • Flexible, organized, and able to handle multiple and competing priorities.
  • Quick learner with the ability to thrive in high paced environments.
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal skills and sound business judgement.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
