About the Role:

CrowdStrike is seeking a Manager of Cloud Engineering.  This critical role in the organization will be responsible for leading one or more key areas of the cloud platform. You will help drive and deliver on the technical strategy and roadmap. CrowdStrike is growing rapidly and you will be instrumental in the hiring, retaining and growth of our world class engineers. You will work cross functionally with your peers in the engineering organization as well as leaders in sales and  product. We are a remote first company so you must bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to bear when you are working with your engineering teams and cross functional

teams across the globe.

What You'll Do:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of engineering projects. Ensure that projects meet technical, budget, and time constraints.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with product management, design, QA, and other departments to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Technical Oversight: Ensure that the engineering teams follow best practices in software architecture, design, coding, testing, and deployment. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical problem-solving when necessary.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine development processes to improve team efficiency, product quality, and delivery speed. Implement Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and other best practices.

  • Resource Allocation: Manage engineering resources, balancing workloads, timelines, and priorities across multiple projects to ensure optimal utilization.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Oversee technical debt management and ensure the stability, scalability, and security of software systems.

What You'll Need:

  • MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated track record of building a strong core engineering team and engineering team management

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience in all phases of a software development lifecycle

  • 1+ years of hands-on management experience leading engineering teams 

  • Experience with shipping high quality software in a cloud environments

  • Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Broad grounding in all aspects of distributed systems development: understanding of distributed systems concepts, authN/Z (OAuth2, etc.) and API development

  • Solid design and problem solving skills with demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, security and performance

  • Strong cross-group collaboration and interpersonal communication skills working with a variety of roles including engineering, product management, support and sales engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to attract and hire talent and grow the team rapidly

  • Experience working with remote teams and individuals while ensuring agility and code velocity

  • Ability to communicate and articulate crisply at all levels from executive staff to engineers

  • Broad general knowledge of the high-technology industry gained in larger enterprise software environments enhanced by ongoing awareness of R&D practices / technology advances

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments

  • Experience in Golang and/or container and container orchestration technologies

  • Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence.

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $160,000 - $250,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
