We are seeking a collaborative and strategic leader to drive alignment, enhance impact, and hold teams accountable for data-driven decision-making. Leading across Petro-Canada's marketing and communications functions while partnering with Operations and Digital Products, this role requires skills of influence and a quick mind that can access and find the opportunity in plans and people. The mantra “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts” will ring true as the leader in this role grows business value through integration.  

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field  
  • Proven ability to align marketing strategy with business outcomes 
  • Experienced leader who guides teams effectively without formal authority 
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, able to uncover opportunities and navigate multiple paths to success 
  • Strong negotiation skills with a win-win mindset to influence decisions 
  • Expert relationship builder, fostering collaboration across all levels and diverse backgrounds, internally and with agency partners 
  • Broad marketing experience welcomed, agency and/or client side 

Responsibilities:  

  • Drive planning by championing annual and ongoing go-to-market strategies. 
  • Leverage data by partnering with Insights, Digital Products, and agencies to inform strategy and measure performance objectively. 
  • Foster collaboration across Category Management, Energy, Brand, and Loyalty to unify marketing efforts, partner with Operations and Digital Products in consideration of the whole customer experience.  
  • Optimize processes by governing tools that align brand and marketing efforts with customer needs and business goals. 
  • Oversee agency partnerships at a high level, ensuring effective management and strong return on investment in people and programs.  
  • Maintain brand alignment by keeping brand purpose as the guiding principle at every consumer touchpoint.  

Location and other key details: 

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday at the head office, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
