The Opportunity: This position works for the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) division where we’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

Primary Role: The Sr. Postmarket Surveillance Data Scientist will work with complaint, sales, and manufacturing data, using this information to draw conclusions and assist with tracking and trending investigations. They will create automated reports for regulatory inquiries and develop Power BI dashboards for metric and product performance oversight.

What You'll Work On

  • Analyze data, draw insights, and present results in a cohesive, intuitive, and simplistic manner.
  • Utilize technologies to collect, clean, analyze, predict, and effectively communicate information.
  • Prepare both structured and unstructured data for analysis.
  • Examine data sets and determine the best end-to-end analysis plan to address key business questions and create value for the client.
  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis to determine trends and significant data relationships.
  • Develop machine learning models to apply test data algorithms to future data.
  • Validate models/analytical techniques, and develop algorithms to execute analytical functions.
  • Work with stakeholders to define business questions, requirements, timelines, objectives, and success criteria to address needs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for significant operational, process, or system-level product improvements.
  • Communicate model logic and restrictions.
  • Work closely with the business to understand the domain and iteratively refine analyses.
  • Transform analytical results into actionable recommendations for business partners using deep industry knowledge.
  • Create and validate automated reports for regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards for metric and product performance oversight.
  • Coach and mentor junior data scientists and provide technical/analytical guidance when needed
  • Provides input into developing departmental and site processes and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, and Power Automate.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in programming and database environments.
  • Experience in creating data-driven stories that address strategic business questions.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to design systems that support deep analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics/science in a relevant industrial or academic setting.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, structured and unstructured data analysis, predictive modeling techniques, and data visualization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics.
  • MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar technical disciplines/experience.

The base pay for this position is

$83,600.00 – $167,200.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
