Hi there!Customers shouldn’t have to guess what they’re being charged for—or why. Today, understanding subscription costs, usage-based billing, and invoice details can feel opaque. Our job is to change that by designing experiences that help customers understand, trust, and verify how they’re charged over time.
As a Product Designer for the Revenue zone focused on Payments, you’ll design how customers see and interact with billing across the product: how they pay for subscriptions and usage, how they track and interpret what they’re being charged for, and how they manage settings, invoices, and credits. You’ll work across self-serve and Enterprise billing workflows so that everyone—from individual automators to large organizations—has clarity and control.
You’ll partner with product, engineering, and design peers to shape billing-aligned usage tracking (including Usage Insights and billing-related reporting), usage notifications and threshold moments, and billing settings (taxes, currency, credits, invoices). Your work will directly answer the question customers ask most: “What am I being charged for, and why?”

You’re a product designer with 5–7 years of experience. You’ve shipped end-to-end design work and are comfortable owning design from discovery through to implementation and iteration.
You care about clarity and trust in financial UX. You’re motivated by making complex billing, usage, or subscription information understandable and actionable—whether in self-serve flows or enterprise contexts.
You’re comfortable with data-heavy and settings-heavy experiences. You can design for usage reporting, thresholds, invoices, and billing settings without overwhelming users, and you think in systems (tables, filters, notifications) as well as single screens.
You collaborate closely with PM and engineering. You ask good questions, align on constraints (e.g., billing systems, tax rules), and iterate based on feedback and research.
You’re curious about both self-serve and Enterprise needs. You’re willing to learn how billing differs for individual customers vs. large organizations and to design for both when the product does.
Design how customers understand and verify what they’re charged for. Own UX for subscription and usage-based billing—how plans, usage, and line items are presented so customers can quickly answer “what am I being charged for, and why?”
Shape billing-aligned usage tracking and reporting. Contribute to or own design for Usage Insights and other billing-related reporting so usage and cost stay aligned and predictable.
Design usage notifications and threshold moments. Create clear, timely moments (e.g., approaching limits, overages, renewals) that help customers stay in control and avoid surprise.
Improve billing settings and invoices. Design or refine flows for taxes, currency, credits, and invoice history so customers can manage billing with confidence.
Support self-serve and Enterprise billing workflows. Work with your team to ensure patterns work for individual subscribers and for Enterprise billing, and help close gaps where one flow doesn’t fit the other.
Partner with product and engineering. Participate in discovery, align on success metrics, and deliver designs that are feasible and measurable—and that build trust over time.
At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description. All we ask is that you answer a few in-depth questions in our application that would typically be asked at the start of an interview process. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.
Education is not a requirement for our roles; however, if you receive an offer, you will need to include your most recent educational experience as part of our background check process.
After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know we’ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!
