What You’ll Be Doing

You will join CIBC’s Cyber Security, Third-Party, and Resilience Project Management Office (PMO) and play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives that enhance cybersecurity, operational resilience, and third-party governance across the bank. Working closely with Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders, you’ll help coordinate a portfolio of projects and manage monthly financials from end to end. Your responsibilities will include supporting project planning, monitoring progress, tracking financials, and facilitating communications to help deliver projects on time and within scope. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience, positioning you for future growth into a Project Manager role.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Project Financials: You will monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will assist with forecasting, variance analysis, and the preparation of financial summaries for management. You will identify and escalate financial risks or discrepancies in a timely manner. Strong Excel knowledge is ideal.

  • Project Coordination: You will support Project Managers and/or Scrum Masters throughout all phases of the project management lifecycle. You will assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules and documentation.  You will coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items and decisions. You will Track project progress, follow up on outstanding items, and help ensure deliverables are met on time.

  • Tracking & Reporting: You will prepare regular status reports on project financials, milestones, risks, and issues. You will maintain accurate project files and records in accordance with CIBC Enterprise Delivery Framework to ensure compliance. You will also support change management processes and documentation updates as required.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably with a focus on financial management. You are familiar with project management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile) and have experience with tools such as Microsoft Excel and MS Project; experience with Planview is an asset.

  • You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't, and your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision-making.

  • You are an adaptable team player. You are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, change-driven environment, continuously seeking to improve processes and outcomes.

  • You are driven by collective success. You know that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one, and you understand the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to create a shared vision.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values—trust, teamwork, and accountability.
