Position Overview:

Echtra Games is searching for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to help us craft the future of our studio as we build a new cross-platform Action RPG. Have you built systems that enable automated testing of game features? Then come join us at Echtra Games! We’re looking for a great QA engineer to help us build out our automated testing systems so we can ship the best game possible.

Echtra Games is a medium sized and growing game studio in San Francisco with a team of veteran game developers and visionary newcomers who work both on-site and remotely. What You'll Do:

  • Work with developers to add features in support of testing & automation within our existing codebase
  • Work with build engineers to ensure test automation is an integral part of our development pipeline
  • Ensure a holistic approach to test coverage
  • Function as a developer advocate for testing at all phases of the development process

What You Bring:

  • You have previous experience as a QA Engineer (or SDET or similar) on a game or large software project
  • You’re an excellent communicator, making complex information clear and concise
  • You have experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, and familiarity with compiler/build environments
  • You’re deeply knowledgeable about
  • Industry standard automation tools
  • Game development and QA practices and terminology
  • Tools like bug databases (we use JIRA) and test management systems

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in game testing on multiple platforms, especially console platforms.
  • Experience with Python
  • A love and passion for gaming!

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,200 and $118,660 per year. 

However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.   Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
