Location: This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week at our Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5, Canada.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr. C/C++ Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have good coding and debugging skills in C/C++ and an extensive understanding of macOS or Linux systems. This role involves working on sophisticated software projects that require comprehensive knowledge of internet protocols and potentially kernel programming. Experience with Objective-C, Swift, and browser add-on development is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain robust software applications using C/C++ on Linux or macOS platforms.

  • Perform detailed debugging and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality software performance and reliability. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system-level components effectively.

  • Utilize your expertise in internet protocols to enhance network-related features and system performance. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Good Programming Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ with strong abilities in coding and debugging within a Linux or macOS environment. 

  • Extensive System Architecture Knowledge: Extensive understanding of macOS or Linux architecture, enabling you to navigate and utilize system-level functionalities effectively.

  • Internet Protocols Expertise: Solid understanding of various internet protocols and their practical applications in software development. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Kernel Programming Experience: Knowledge of kernel programming, providing the capability to contribute to system-level code development.

  • Objective-C/Swift Experience: Proficiency in developing software using Objective-C or Swift, especially in macOS environments.

  • Browser Add-On Development: Experience in developing browser add-ons, enabling the extension and customization of browser functionalities.

For applicants in the province of Ontario: Trend Micro Canada is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary for this role is CAD $105,000.00 - $115,000.00. A candidate’s final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors to include, but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
