Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting high-quality software solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including product managers, UX designers, and other engineers, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable software applications using best practices and industry standards.

  • Take ownership of end-to-end feature development, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to coding standards and documentation practices.

  • Write non-application code, such as infrastructure as code, unit tests, metrics, monitoring, alarms, etc., to ensure reliability and maintainability.

  • Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and ensure code quality.

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as QA, SRE, and product management, to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.

  • Take time for learning and continuous improvement, building your skills and exploring interests beyond current work tasks.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend or full-stack development.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Go, Java, Python.

  • Demonstrated expertise in complex application development, including debugging, analysis, and optimization.

  • Experience with cloud native application development on AWS or Azure.

  • Experience with microservice architectures, REST API development, and event-driven architectures.

  • Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Continuous learning mindset, with a passion for keeping up with industry trends and technologies.

For applicants in the province of Ontario: Trend Micro Canada is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary for this role is CAD $105,000.00 - $115,000.00. A candidate’s final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors to include, but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
