Job Responsibilities:

About the role:
 

As a Senior Specialist Solution Architect, you are responsible for the design, continuous refinement, and governance of solution and target architectures within the MPT IT landscape. In close collaboration with business, IT, and OT stakeholders, you ensure that technological solutions are implemented in alignment with the overall strategy, sustainably, and with future readiness in mind.
 

Your responsibilities:

  • Driving the development and continuous enhancement of enterprise and solution architecture principles in close collaboration with experts from IT and OT environments

  • Conducting business and system analyses across multiple domains to identify opportunities for optimization, digitalization, integration, and modernization

  • Defining and aligning target architectures together with business, IT, and OT stakeholders

  • Evaluating architecture-relevant demands within the demand management process, ensuring compliance with architecture principles, IT strategy, as well as security and integration requirements

  • Designing and developing solution architectures with a focus on IoT-related solutions, as well as applications in administrative business areas, considering hybrid infrastructures such as on-premises, edge, and cloud

  • Ensuring architectural guidance and governance throughout project implementation

  • Ensuring architectural transparency and quality by maintaining relevant architecture artifacts in LeanIX

  • Coaching and enabling business, IT, and OT stakeholders
     

What we are looking for:

  • A degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification

  • More than 10 years of relevant professional experience in an IT environment, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing industry

  • Several years of hands-on experience in architecture-related disciplines such as solution architecture, enterprise architecture, business analysis, demand management, or requirements and software engineering

  • Strong understanding of IoT architectures and hybrid IT landscapes (on-premises, edge, cloud)

  • Certifications in IT architecture or IT service management (e.g., ITIL) are an advantage

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to present complex architectural topics in a structured and audience-appropriate manner

  • Willingness to combine strategic, conceptual, and implementation-oriented tasks, including international travel
