About the Position
The Senior Trans Tech Business Analyst is a critical member of the Transportation Technology team, responsible for supporting Solution Architects in gathering business requirements, designing solutions, and implementing Transportation Technology platforms. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Business Intelligence to deliver functional expertise, drive process improvement, and ensure the successful adoption and performance of transportation systems. This role must be able to navigate evolving business needs, rapidly changing technologies, and dynamic customer environments with flexibility, resilience, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Functions
- Document detailed business, technical, and operational requirements for new implementations and enhancements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solution alignment with business objectives.
- Consult with clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing best practices, process guidance, and system expertise.
- Establish strong cross-departmental relationships to support smooth and efficient Transportation Technology deployments.
- Provide hands-on support for Transportation Technology applications, with a focus on MercuryGate TMS and Maven VRS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues; determine root causes and develop long-term corrective actions.
- Support carrier and customer contract setup and maintenance within MercuryGate TMS.
- Serve as the site administrator for Transportation Technology platforms, managing user setup, permissions, and security protocols.
- Process operational user requests, including new user onboarding, access changes, and general system inquiries.
- Partner with TMS Solution Architects on implementation efforts, new feature development, and configuration projects.
- Support all testing phases, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Create high-quality, customer-ready training materials and process documentation.
- Conduct internal and external training sessions to ensure users are proficient with Transportation Technology applications.
- Demonstrate high adaptability in response to shifting priorities, emerging technologies, and evolving customer requirements.
- Proactively identify opportunities to optimize system usage, streamline processes, and enhance overall solution performance.
- Primary focus on MercuryGate TMS and Maven VRS, with additional involvement in complementary technologies such as Jaggaer, FourKites, DAT, Truckstop.com, SMC³, Highway, Parade, and other transportation management–related tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience with the MercuryGate Transportation Management System (TMS), including configuration, troubleshooting, and user support.
- High Adaptability Quotient (AQ) with a demonstrated ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities, technologies, and customer needs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across diverse teams; capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience delivering training and leading discussions with internal stakeholders and external clients.
