About the Role:

We seek an experienced Lead Workflow Automation Engineer to drive enterprise-wide intelligent automation initiatives using N8N, Tray.ai, and AI platforms. The overall objective for this position is to serve as both a hands-on technical expert and team leader in this space. This role requires strong technical expertise in automation platforms and AI technologies to deliver scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

As a Lead Workflow Automation Engineer with technical lead responsibilities, you will personally drive critical automation initiatives while guiding other engineers. You'll maintain significant hands-on development work while setting technical direction and standards. You will partner with stakeholders in Operations, Finance, HR, and more—bridging business needs with technical implementation.

You'll leverage AI tools, automation platforms, and system integrations to eliminate repetitive tasks, reduce human error, and unlock scalability. From API integrations to multi-step workflow design, you will be at the forefront of transforming how the business operates, both as an individual contributor and technical leader.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead technical implementation and architecture of enterprise automation solutions using N8N, Tray.ai, and AI platforms (MCP, Gemini Enterprise)

  • Design and develop complex integrations using APIs, webhooks, and agentic workflows for business process automation

  • Build and maintain monitoring systems, alerting mechanisms, and performance metrics for automated workflows

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to 2-3 automation engineers, including code reviews and best practices

  • Drive technical standards, architecture decisions, and serve as escalation point for complex challenges

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify, design, and implement automation opportunities across departments

  • Document and evangelize technical implementations and automation best practices

  • Track and report on automation metrics, including ROI, time savings, and error reduction

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years of experience in application integration development and automation

  • Advanced expertise in APIs, REST/GraphQL, JSON, XML, and web services

  • Deep hands-on experience with N8N, Tray.ai, or similar automation platforms

  • Proven expertise in implementing AI solutions using MCP, Gemini Enterprise, or similar platforms

  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Proven experience integrating enterprise applications (Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Snowflake, Coupa)

  • Experience implementing agentic workflows and AI chains

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and applications

  • Track record of leading complex, enterprise-wide automation initiatives

  • Experience in technical mentorship and team leadership of 2-3 engineers

  • Experience in architectural design and technical decision-making

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-departmental collaboration skills

  • Excellent communication skills with business English proficiency

  • Experience working in Agile environments
