This role will report directly to the Manager, Accounts Payable. This person will work collaboratively with employees at all levels, locations, and departments across StackAdapt. The Staff Accountant will assist in the day-to-day execution of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner including process, verify and reconcile invoices, complete payment runs, process employee expenses and credit card transactions, and participate in month end related activities.
StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are only open to candidates located in EST in Canada for this position.
What you'll be doing:
- Facilitate the accounts payable cycle by receiving, verifying, and processing invoices.
- Act as a point of contact for vendor accounts to resolve any accounts payable issues.
- Assist in weekly settlement of accounts payable via EFT/ACH and wire.
- Review, reconcile and settle monthly credit card statements and follow up with card holders and approvers for outstanding submissions as required.
- Process employee expense reports and communicate with employees to obtain any missing or inaccurate information.
- Create journal entries related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and month end related activities as required.
- Complete monthly cash and accounts payable related account reconciliations.
- Assist Corporate Accounting team with month end accrual documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Ad hoc requests as assigned.
What you'll bring to the table:
- University or college degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Two years of experience in a similar role at a high growth or publicly owned company.
- Proficiency in handling accounts payable processes.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Acute attention to detail to ensure accuracy and maintain financial records.
- Exceptional customer service skills and work well in a team environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Take initiative, are eager to learn, and exhibit the StackAdapt core values.
- Experience in Navan, Zip, and NetSuite or WorkDay or similar software is considered a strong asset.
