Staff Business Intelligence Engineer

We’re looking for a Staff Business Intelligence Engineer to lead efforts to scale Webflow’s BI ecosystem — transforming how data is modeled, visualized, and activated to drive smarter decision-making across the company. You will define BI strategy, build user-centric dashboards, drive self-service adoption, and partner closely with Go-to-Market, Product and Engineering, and General and Administrative leaders to ensure reliable, insightful, and accessible reporting at scale. This role is deeply cross-functional and ideal for someone who brings a combination of technical excellence, design sensibility, systems thinking, and a deep empathy for data consumers.

You’ll be joining a results oriented, collaborative team with an established, shared understanding of our business logic, a modern data stack, and lots of opportunity to extend the function to build new Business Intelligence frameworks and establish best practices. You’ll work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to transform our data in ways that improve the flexibility and repeatability of insights and analytics. You'll also partner on metric definitions and governance, and help teams understand and improve our user experience through data. You’ll bring your expertise to improve our current processes and promote a shared language across our growing data functions at Webflow, thoughtfully developing Webflow’s data maturity for lasting impact. • The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.

This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.

• Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics and Analytics Engineering.

As a Staff Business Intelligence Engineer, you’ll:

• Design and deliver compelling dashboards and data visualizations using tools like Tableau and Hex, applying strong UX/UI, accessibility, and mobile-first principles to help stakeholders draw clear, actionable insights.
• Architect and maintain scalable, governed BI layers and pipelines, including automated and scheduled reporting flows, to ensure reliability, data freshness, and a single source of truth across teams.
• Drive metric development and governance, establishing standardized definitions, clear lineage tracking, and scalable testing frameworks using tools like dbt and Snowflake.
• Maintain a well-documented data catalog and BI asset library, enabling discoverability, accuracy, and self-serve access to trusted analytics resources.
• Lead requirements gathering and stakeholder alignment, ensuring BI solutions are strategically aligned, technically feasible, and grounded in real business needs.
• Develop and deliver enablement programs for business users, equipping teams with the knowledge and training to confidently leverage BI assets in their workflows.
• Act as a strategic partner and subject matter expert, collaborating deeply with cross-functional teams, analytics engineers, and data scientists to ensure consistent metrics and domain-specific insights.

You’ll thrive as a Staff Business Intelligence Engineer if you:

• Have 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or analytics engineering roles with a proven track record of delivering high-impact BI solutions.
• Bring deep expertise in enterprise BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Hex).
• Are highly skilled in dashboard UX/UI design, chart selection, color theory, accessibility, and interactivity.
• Have experience building and managing self-service environments, including training, governance, and stakeholder enablement.
• Are proficient in SQL and tools like dbt to transform and model clean, reusable data for analytics.
• Understand the end-to-end BI lifecycle — from stakeholder requirements to design to delivery and support.
• Have excellent collaboration and communication skills — you thrive in translating complexity for non-technical stakeholders and shaping analytics culture.
• Enjoy contributing to and evolving best practices, frameworks, and tooling that elevate BI maturity.
• Stay curious and open to growth — actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI to unlock creativity, accelerate progress, and amplify impact.
