We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Operations Manager - Metrics, Insights & Tooling Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage data analysis to provide actionable insights into our business performance, drive improvements in program execution, and identify opportunities for process optimization. You will strategically shape the way our teams operate, scale, and continuously improve, with a specific focus on elevating our delivery metrics and optimizing our Atlassian tooling (Jira, Confluence, and JPD).

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret business metrics from various data sources to generate meaningful insights.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and comprehensive reports that highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders to ensure alignment and support data driven decision-making.
  • Analyze delivery metrics to identify areas for execution enhancement and performance improvement.
  • Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in current workflows through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.

Tooling Optimization:

  • Drive efforts to optimize Jira tooling, automation, and workflows to enhance operational scalability and efficiency.
  • Establish and implement best practices for Jira usage to improve data accuracy, reporting, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure Jira configurations effectively support project management and tracking.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and FAQs to help users navigate Jira and optimize workflows.
  • Utilize Jira automation features to minimize manual tasks, such as auto-assigning tasks and status updates.
  • Lead efforts to integrate Jira with other platforms (e.g., Slack, Confluence) to streamline notifications and updates.
  • Create customized dashboards in Jira for real-time insights into project progress, team performance, and workload distribution.
  • Simplify Jira configurations by minimizing custom fields and screens to reduce complexity.
  • Conduct regular audits to clean up unused projects, workflows, and boards, maintaining an organized Jira environment.

Enhancing Ways of Working:

  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions aimed at enhancing team capabilities in data literacy and analytics.
  • Propose and facilitate the implementation of process improvements that boost productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Set up regular feedback channels (e.g., surveys, retrospectives) to gather stakeholder input on process effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role, with a strong focus on business context.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Google Sheets, SQL, Tableau).
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in building and interpreting metrics, dashboards, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and translate operational challenges into effective strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and JPD for project management and tracking.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, with a bias toward action and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:
$131,000$197,000 CAD
