Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer, reporting to the Design and Stress Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office.

The Structural Analysis Engineer will join the Design and Stress Department. The Design & Stress Department at Boeing Winnipeg is responsible for 787 Section 49, Tooling Stress and stress support for BCW Production.   

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

  • Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience in stress analysis or structural analysis

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in a relevant field of Engineering

  • Must be registered, or eligible to be registered, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as an E.I.T (Engineer in Training) or P. Eng. (Professional Engineer)

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience in structural analysis of various airframe structures

  • Experience performing stress analysis using both hand calculations and finite element tools

  • Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite structures

  • Experience with static and fatigue analysis

  • Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, Free-body diagrams, structural loads and, analysis methods

  • Experience in utilizing FEM software (e.g., ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Hyperworks)

  • Experience or training with computer programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Visual Basic)

  • Experience in utilizing industry CAD systems (e.g. CATIA/ENOVIA)

  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
