Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams through the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific Supply Chain related projects. The role is responsible for managing project schedule, cost and risk to exceed customer and/or stakeholder expectations through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, planning, purchasing and production resources. Some of the projects will be connected to warehouse design, material flow, developing and optimizing processes & procedures, inventory footprint, and external supplier linkage.
This is a hybrid role between a project manager and supply chain / industrial engineer. The role uses a standardized approach to continuously improve and develop the standards executed on the shop floor. The standardized tools and methods involve problem solving, analysis, risk management, and project management.
Job Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Definition and optimization of intralogistics material flow from incoming materials, commissioning, delivery to assembly lines, and outbound finished goods.
- Define and document standards across areas of responsibility.
- Support production and warehouse operations.
- Design material layouts and develop material handling systems for the factory.
- Oracle responsibilities as related to internal logistics.
- Lead the planning and implementation of critical projects
- Develop project scope and objectives, involving all relevant individuals and departments, ensuring technical feasibility
- Define project tasks and resource requirements
- Develop and manage project budget
- Plan and schedule project timelines
- Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
- Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions focusing on overall project schedule, costs and risks
- Manage risks and issues and take corrective measurements
- Interface directly with all internal departments, outside suppliers/vendors and especially the customer regarding all facets of program control, management, and reporting
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects
- Ability to anticipate and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs; to set new priorities, and follow through in order to meet deadlines
- Establish and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Manage up to 5 concurrent projects
- Travel up to 20% of the time
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Performs a variety of tasks, therefore a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Some job planning may be required to support the production planners.
- The successful candidate will seek to enhance the department and organization by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to jobs.
- Develops procedures and coordinates training for warehouse and production personnel associated with material handling and maintains them in accordance with ISO/Training matrices.
- Performs computer simulations of logistic problems.
- Responsible for scanning, barcoding, and wireless technologies within warehouse.
Experience/Skills:
- 3-5 years of direct project management experience
- Full understanding of MS Suite, especially MS Project.
- Resilient and relentless in pursuit of targets and objectives
- Certification (Value Stream Mapping, PFEP, Lean Line Design, KANBAN, Supermarket Calculation, Flow Simulations) – Preferred
- Certification (MTM Logistics) – Preferred
- Certification (Project Management) – Preferred
- 3-5 Years of Experience (Technical supply chain/logistics experience) – Preferred
- 3-5 Years of Experience (Manufacturing or Warehouse) – Preferred
- Intermediate understanding of supply chain engineering, manufacturing, intralogistics concepts & applications, and lean design.
- Intermediate knowledge of problem-solving tools, root cause analysis and decision making.
- Intermediate knowledge of factory capacity, lean manufacturing concepts & processes.
- Intermediate knowledge of warehouse and intralogistics material flow.
- Intermediate project management proficiency.
- Warehouse equipment and Industry 4.0 understanding.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and other simulation software.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to work with various departments in the organization as well as outside vendors
- Excellent ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and proactively act on data with minimal supervision
Education:
- Candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree (Technical, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain) - Preferred
