Are you passionate about shaping the future of talent acquisition and building meaningful connections with candidates? At Ciena, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team as a Talent Acquisition Associate. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to our Early in Career (EIC) programs, collaborate with key stakeholders, and make an impact on the next generation of talent. This role will require you to be onsite 3 days a week in our Kanata office.

 

How You Will Contribute:

  • Coordinate EIC recruiting activities and foster authentic, trusted relationships with candidates.
  • Build productive relationships with stakeholders, including campus relations, hiring managers, and business leaders, while leveraging data to inform recruitment strategies and compensation packages.
  • Provide end-to-end recruitment support for new grad, co-op and intern programs, including scheduling interviews, presenting offers, and onboarding candidates.
  • Maintain connections with campus career centers, plan events, and ensure alignment with industry trends to meet EIC talent needs.
  • Travel during peak seasons to execute hiring strategies and manage campus presence and events.
  • Collaborate with the North American EIC lead to develop student pipelines for future full-time roles.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the candidate experience and coordinate sourcing and ordering of company-branded merchandise.

 

The Must Haves:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or a Business-related field.
     

Nice to Haves:

  • Previous experience in recruitment, customer service, event management, team administration, project management, or related HR support roles.
  • Familiarity with ATS or HRIS systems (e.g., Workday). 
  • Experience with high-volume recruitment activities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking.

 

Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position is $47,900 - 76,500

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
