Join our team as an Intern supporting Product Owners and engineering teams working on cutting-edge system performance models and architectural simulations. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contributions will help shape the future of advanced communications systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Support Agile Product Development: Help maintain and prioritize Jira backlogs, manage Epics, and refine user stories and acceptance criteria that describe system behaviors such as orbital coverage, user throughput, and gateway capacity.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Participate in Agile ceremonies - stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives - to track progress, identify blockers, and support delivery. Work closely with engineering leads to translate technical modeling needs into actionable backlog items.
- Enhance Team Visibility & Coordination: Assist in managing Jira dashboards and Confluence documentation to improve transparency and alignment across modeling teams (e.g., space segment, ground segment, user terminals).
- Communicate Insights: Help prepare visual artifacts and reports that convey modeling results and system performance insights to engineering and program leadership.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile concepts (e.g., sprints, backlogs, user stories).
- Basic understanding of systems engineering or system modeling.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
