Position Overview
Ivans, a worldwide leader in insurance technology and a division of Applied Systems, is currently searching for a Technical Product Manager, Distribution Platform to lead Ivans' API-driven distribution platform, used by insurance carriers, technology partners and insurance agencies to ensure seamless connectivity and expand commercial distribution channels.
This individual is responsible for growing our API-driven distribution ecosystem and transforming commercial insurance experiences by leading the roadmap, development and go-to-market processes for Ivans Distribution Platform. This role involves understanding industry needs and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to develop new features, integration tools, testing frameworks, documentation and analytics that empower our customers and partners to effectively integrate with Ivans Distribution solutions. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to address customer and partner challenges and enhance product adoption, while also advocating for distribution needs within the organization.
Ivans has deep expertise in data connectivity to enhance operational efficiency and ensure our partners stay ahead in a rapidly evolving insurance industry. For the past 40 years, we have been delivering solutions that allow our customers to navigate transformation, optimize performance, and achieve lasting success in the digital round trip of insurance.
What You'll Do
  • The Product Manager is responsible for transforming distribution experiences across the insurance industry by leading the roadmap and development processes for our API-driven distribution ecosystem.
  • We are looking for someone with proven expertise in APIs, product integrations, development lifecycles and the needs of both developers and end user customers.
  • This individual will develop industry-leading solutions, integration tools, testing frameworks, and documentation that empower customers and developers to effectively integrate Ivans' distribution solutions within their applications.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and gather requirements for new features and enhancements.
  • Maintain, refine, and prioritize backlog. Define requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and follow agile principles to develop and deliver.
  • They will have the ability to understand user needs, develop product roadmaps, and work in close collaboration with UX, Customer Success, Engineering, Implementation, Marketing, internal product teams and other stakeholders
  • Build end-to-end integration journeys and monitor funnel drop-offs throughout the journey.
  • Work with the core product teams to understand client base, future product direction, and currently identified areas targeted for growth.
  • Participate in product roadmap/release plan activities to ensure that cross-product opportunities are identified, planned, and delivered.
  • Provide sales support including complex solutions, creating flexible offerings when needed.
  • Direct ongoing market research and gather market requirements to ensure the product/service continues to be profitable and meets customer needs.
  • Establish key monthly product measurements to track performance including revenue, use in customer base, sales projections, profitability, product performance, and quality

We're looking for someone who:
  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.
  • Ability to travel (15% - 20%).

Your experience may include:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, with expertise in APIs, integrations, development lifecycles and the needs of both developers and end user customers.
  • Experience managing and enhancing APIs that internal/external partners and customers use to integrate within their applications.
  • Strong understanding of the content and tools needed by developers to integrate with partner APIs.
  • Strategic thinker who can balance the need for short-term delivery with long-term platform innovation.
  • Ability to lead cross functional departmental teams in the development of readiness practices and processes; effective in implementing new and improved processes.
  • Passion for customer experience and driving the unification of customer data to unlock actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

You may have other skills or credentials, including:
  • Insurance or financial industry experience.
  • B2B product management experience.
  • Knowledge in the use of Project Management methodologies (Agile Scrum, etc.).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ReadMe, Swagger, Pendo or other related tools.
