About Thrive

Thrive is a leading full-funnel digital marketing agency supporting growth for some of North America’s most ambitious companies. We evolve our services through disciplined learning, continuous improvement, and close partnership with our clients - regularly assessing what works, what doesn’t, and where to raise the bar.

Our mission is to help companies grow sustainably. To do that, we’ve built deep expertise across performance marketing, brand marketing, digital design, and data and measurement, managing more than $5 billion USD in advertising spend over the past decade. Our work spans startups, scale-ups, and enterprise organizations, including Alo, Zoom, Slack, Uber, Asana, Masterclass, Snapchat, Change.org, and lululemon.

Our culture values curiosity, accountability, and thoughtful problem-solving. We challenge our teams to grow and take ownership of their work while respecting boundaries and long-term sustainability. Thrive is a place where experimentation is encouraged, learning is continuous, and people are supported to do high-quality work they’re proud of - together.

The Role

As Technical Sales Manager, you play a central role in securing new business by leading the technical work behind audits and requests for proposals, as well as the technical component of the client-facing pitch. You coordinate contributions across Thrive’s teams, establish a clear audit narrative, and translate complex findings into credible, commercially relevant recommendations. You partner with Business Development to ensure every presentation accurately represents Thrive’s expertise, responds to the client’s needs, and strengthens confidence in choosing Thrive.

You also drive growth within existing client partnerships through proactive internal audits with the Performance team. By examining performance, identifying untapped opportunities, and clearly demonstrating the value of Thrive’s work, you help teams protect strong partnerships and build the case for thoughtful expansion.

You own the quality and evolution of Thrive’s audit discipline, including its methods, standards, internal artifacts, and client-facing outputs. You coach contributors, coordinate stakeholders, maintain technical rigour, and ensure recommendations remain grounded in evidence and aligned with Thrive’s delivery capabilities.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Domain: Own the technical audit discipline, ensuring every assessment is scoped, evidence-based, repeatable, and translated into commercially relevant recommendations.
  • Client: Build client confidence by leading complex technical conversations, clarifying expectations, and connecting evidence-based recommendations to business goals.
  • People: Develop our audit capability through practical training, direct coaching, quality feedback, and clear standards for technical and client-facing work.
  • Company: Drive growth by supporting qualification, uncovering expansion opportunities, strengthening market credibility, and turning audit insights into service innovation.

We’re committed to delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that will create a strong foundation for your launch in this role:

  • In your first 30 days, you’ll learn Thrive’s sales process, observe client pitches and conversations, and begin leading technical components of calls, as well as begin leading sales-focused audits with some support.
  • In your first 60 days, you’ll lead technical components of client pitches and conversations, and lead sales-driven Audits & RFPs.
  • In your first 90 days, you’ll own all technical components of client pitches and conversations, and lead sales-driven audits & RFPs from back end analysis through to pitch.

Qualifications
  • You’ve directly managed and optimized low-to-high complexity e-commerce and demand generation accounts, including multimillion-dollar annual media investments.
  • You’ve worked inside active advertising accounts to diagnose measurement, structure, budgeting, targeting, creative, and performance challenges alongside delivery teams.
  • You’ve led end-to-end technical audits, turning account-level evidence into prioritized recommendations, practical actions, and commercially relevant growth opportunities.
  • You’ve presented and defended technical recommendations to executive and senior marketing stakeholders during high-stakes new-business and expansion conversations.
  • You’ve coordinated sales, strategy, media, creative, and data contributors across audits and requests for proposal, owning scope, timelines, narrative, and quality.
  • You’ve strengthened internal operations through proactive audits, hands-on team support, repeatable standards, improved workflows, and contributor training.
