Job Title: Technical Sales Specialist

Location: Canada (100% remote)

Role Overview: As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in ERP systems and financial reporting to drive sales and support customer success. You will engage directly with key decision-makers, particularly CFOs, to understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of ERP configurations, financial reporting requirements, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development and Sales:
    • Outbound cold calling is about 30% of the job responsibility. Demonstrate experience and willingness in this area as this is critical to your short term success.
    • Conduct detailed needs discovery conversations with CFOs and other financial leaders about their ERP systems and reporting needs.
    • Set realistic customer expectations by understanding and articulating the capabilities and limitations of our solutions.
    • Have high expertise in ERP systems and the needs of CFOs in financial reporting.  
  2. Manage the Sales Process and Onboarding:
    • Be accountable for developing the skills to demo a complex solution.
    • Be prepared to manage a large number of deals with a modest average deal size rather than few very large deals.  Understand how to navigate the sales process, be meticulous in tracking deals and activity in our CRM (Hubspot), and be partner-centric for those deals brought by partners.
    • Provide product demonstrations and training to customers, ensuring they understand how to use our solutions to meet their specific needs.
    • Support customers through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition and high customer satisfaction.

Grow an Ecosystem:

    • The majority of your responsibility will be taking on the development of an ecosystem of partners, influencers, key customers and solution development in a target industry where Vivid has a collection of motivated customers.  Ecosystems must be revenue generating, idea generating, and generate deeper customer relationship. 
    • Build a network of channel partners – both following-up on leads generated by Vivid and targeting implementers in the industry – to be recommenders of Vivid.  Be partner-centric in thinking, know how to work with and encourage partners and put yourself on a path that to make a significant amount of annual volume from partners over 24 months.
    • Develop deep relationships with key customers and influencers that both engage us in strategic conversation on their needs and work with Vivid in market development. Be excellent at listening, be excellent at fostering communities that want to engage with both Vivid and each other, know how to orchestrate product and executive to support the development of your ecosystem.
    • Work with marketing to develop programs that support efforts in your industry within the context of the company’s overall strategy.
    • Be directed in outbound sales activity within this industry to become known, secure the influential marquee accounts, foster webinars, and foster referral selling.

Qualifications:

Experience:

    • Extensive experience with ERP systems, particularly in financial reporting and implementation roles.
    • Strong sales background, preferably with experience in ERP sales or implementation. Consider that the deal size is smaller, have experience in managing a larger pipeline and closing 3 deals a month.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including CFOs and other financial leaders.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to executives.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the agility to adapt to changing market conditions.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of building and growing business opportunities.
    • Familiarity with outbound demand generation techniques and a proactive approach to business development.
    • Past experience in training is an asset.
    • Deep experience in financial reporting (including that as an accountant, MBA, or other related business experience in financial reporting) is an asset.
