Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technology-forward Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) across operational and technical domains. This role requires a strong grasp of technical concepts, excellent writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with evolving business needs.

Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to work on-site at least 2 days per week at one of our designated office locations. The remaining days may be worked remotely, subject to team and business needs.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage SOPs and WIs in alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), product teams, and developers to gather and validate content.
  • Translate complex technical processes into clear, user-friendly documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain version control and change logs for all documentation.
  • Ensure consistency in formatting, terminology, and structure across all documents.
  • Use modern documentation tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, XML/DITA, Markdown).
  • Support audits and compliance reviews by providing accurate and timely documentation.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve documentation workflows using technology-driven solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. A certificate or diploma in technical writing is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in writing and editing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) within a structured or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with documentation standards in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or specialty operations.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience in Patient Support Programs (PSPs) is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong background in technical writing with a focus on clarity, consistency, and usability.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, style, and tone, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • High level of accuracy and organizational skills, with a meticulous approach to reviewing and formatting documentation.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects or deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable using and learning new digital tools, platforms, and automation technologies to enhance documentation workflows.
  • Experience with or openness to integrating AI tools into writing and editing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Maintenir le contrôle des versions et les journaux de modifications pour toute la documentation.
  • Assurer la cohérence du formatage, de la terminologie et de la structure dans tous les documents.
  • Utiliser des outils et plateformes de documentation modernes (ex. : SharePoint, Confluence, XML/DITA, Markdown).
  • Soutenir les audits et les examens de conformité en fournissant une documentation précise et en temps opportun.
  • Évaluer et améliorer continuellement les flux de travail de documentation à l’aide de solutions technologiques.

Qualifications minimales

  • Diplôme universitaire en anglais, communication technique, journalisme, ingénierie, sciences de la vie ou domaine connexe. Un certificat ou diplôme en rédaction technique est considéré comme un atout.
  • Minimum de 4 ans d’expérience pratique en rédaction et révision de SOP et WI dans un environnement structuré ou réglementé.
  • Familiarité avec les normes de documentation dans des industries réglementées telles que les soins de santé, les produits pharmaceutiques ou les opérations spécialisées.

Compétences clés

  • Expérience avérée dans les programmes de soutien aux patients (PSP), considérée comme un atout majeur.
  • Solide expérience en rédaction technique axée sur la clarté, la cohérence et la convivialité.
  • Excellente maîtrise de la grammaire, du style et du ton en anglais, avec la capacité de communiquer des informations complexes de manière claire et concise.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$64,200 - $106,900
