Salary range (but not limited to):
59,300 - 72,500Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We’re looking for an Underwriter I, to join our Commercial Lines P&C Underwriting team.
This full-time hybrid position will require you to be in office two (2) days per week and is available at the following offices: London, Ottawa, Ajax, Mississauga, or Toronto (700 University Ave).
What you'll do here:
Assess, evaluate and negotiate on small to moderate risks.
Analyze requests for quotes and recommend innovative solutions.
Apply effective pricing and underwriting strategies in accordance with the company guidelines and personal underwriting authority limits.
Achieve productivity targets and maintain service standards in a fast paced environment.
Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members.
Make recommendations to improve the department processes and increase efficiency.
Foster cooperative broker relationships to identify and develop sales opportunities.
Participate in broker visits, Insurance Industry functions and marketing events where required.
What you bring to the table:
Minimum 1 year of experience in an underwriter or underwriter assistant capacity
Candidates with prior Commercial Lines P&C experience will be prioritized
Completion of or progress toward a CIP designation is an asset.
Strong sales and customer service skills.
Strong negotiating skills and business savvy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Initiative and ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
Awareness of market conditions and understanding of insurance principals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer tools.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
