Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a mid-level VB.NET Software Developer! 

 

This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship. 

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain, enhance, and debug software applications built with VB.NET 

  • Lead development projects through the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) using a waterfall methodology 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements 

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions in the .NET framework to meet business needs 

  • Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications 

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems 

  • Ensure adherence to development standards and best practices 

 

You Must Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 

  • 3+ years of professional experience in .NET development 

  • Solid understanding of the waterfall development methodology and experience working in a structured SDLC environment 

  • Experience with SOAP API and REST API 

  • Proficiency in debugging, testing, and maintaining complex software applications 

  • Experience with SQL Server and database management 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 

  • You take pride in the code you write - it's clean, tested, organized, and elegant 

  • Self-starter - you're proactive and can start projects and tasks without constant direction 

  • Quick learner - you pick up new frameworks and technologies quickly 

 

We Would Also Prefer: 

  • Familiarity with other .NET languages (C#, F#) 

  • Experience with modernizing legacy systems or migrating applications to newer technologies 

  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) 

  • Experience with Jira/Azure DevOps 

  • Experience with Postman or other API testing client 

  • Experience with Entity Framework 

  • Industry experience including direct marketing, e-commerce, print, graphic design and insurance and financial services 

 

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employee.
