Vice President, Services Business Development
The Mastercard Services team is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing the cutting-edge services that help our partners grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business Test & Learn experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.
Client verticals for the group include Financial Institutions, Retail & Commerce and Digital Partners, Governments, Acquiring and many others.
Role:
Principal / Vice President level role focused on the Canadian Merchant & Data Partnerships vertical, responsible for leading and driving services revenue across Merchants (across all key verticals: retail, travel, convenience, fuel, restaurants, amongst others) and key strategic Data Partnerships. This role will also be a member of the Canadian Services Leadership team, and as such having a baseline of knowledge about the payments landscape in Canada will be a valuable asset. They will manage and influence a team who works with account teams and clients, and who helps ensure effective delivery of all Data and Services engagements.
Principal, Merchants & Data Partnerships will focus on: • Collaborating with a dynamic and growing team, you will work with our largest and most important Canadian Merchants and Data Partners to outline, design and help deliver data-driven consulting, marketing and innovation projects to advance their strategies• You will collaborate with Mastercard's dedicated account teams to align on the key priorities for each Merchant and you will interact directly with the Merchant's management team• Through this role you will rapidly develop an expertise in all facets of retail payments: from loyalty strategies to innovation management, card operations, digital and mobile payments, artificial intelligence, digitization and automation, data and analytics and card marketing • Work closely with product management and development services to communicate market needs and develop products that are uniquely suited to address unmet client business needs• Be the "voice of the customer" - identify new revenue-generating opportunities for Mastercard to create new services & offerings that meet client needs
All About You• Proven sales leadership with experience driving high-performing teams to sustained revenue growth in a fast-paced, target-intensive environment• You are intrigued by & understand the unique challenges that Merchants (across verticals) face - and have a keen drive to learn more about how payments (and specifically the Mastercard Services products) could help address them, this role is for you• Minimum of ten years work experience, of which five years management consulting experience or similar• Demonstrates expertise, industry & business knowledge within a business context relevant to data, analytics and information consultancy preferably in a Merchants, Retailers or E-commerce environment• Is knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends (including competitors, substitutes, and complementary offerings) and information affecting his / her business and organization• Track record of a proven value based, consultative sales methodology • Attains first-hand customer information and uses it to communicate market needs• Solutions Oriented and Demonstrates Thought Leadership• Proven ability to set and achieve revenue targets• Strong interpersonal and client facing skills• Strong presentation creation and delivery skills• Strong sales skills including ability to uncover client needs and identify the combination of current off-the-shelf products and custom offerings to meet those needs• Experience working cross functionally with other sales teams, product management, and development services, operations and legal to identify opportunities, design and deliver projects• MBA or other advanced degree preferable but not required• Limited day or overnight travel may be required• Languages: Fluent English, additional languages highly desirable (French)

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. This posting reflects one or more current openings on our team.
Pay Ranges
Toronto, Canada: $208,000 - $291,000 CAD
