What We Do:
Huntress is a fully remote, global team of passionate experts and ethical badasses on a mission to break down the barriers to cybersecurity. Whether creating purpose-built security solutions, hunting down hackers, or impacting our community, our people go above and beyond to change the security game and make a real difference.
Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress protects all businesses—not just the 1%—with enterprise-grade, fully owned, and managed cybersecurity products at the price of an affordable SaaS application. The Huntress difference is our One Team advantage: our technology is designed with our industry-defining Security Operations Center (SOC) in mind and is never separated from our service.
We protect 3M+ endpoints and 1M+ identities worldwide, elevating underresourced IT teams with protection that works as hard as they do. As long as hackers keep hacking, Huntress keeps hunting.
What You’ll Do:
Huntress is looking for an engineer to join our Web Development team. As a Web Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of our customer-facing websites and portals, ensuring that our digital properties function as designed, are performant, rank for search results, and are optimized for conversion.
This role will require extensive technical expertise and the ability to work independently or with a team to create, maintain, and update our digital properties. You will need to understand best practices for web development and content management systems and, ideally, have experience with headless CMS, such as Builder.io. Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web applications and services is essential for succeeding in this role. A strong understanding of UI/UX best practices is necessary, and experience with Figma or other prototyping tools is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Create well-designed and tested code using best practices for web development, including responsive design and mobile UX
- Create websites and interfaces using standard HTML/CSS practices, and incorporate data from back-end databases and services
- Implements new site features, backend integrations, split tests, and more to grow and optimize our web presence
- Engaged in the full development lifecycle: designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and improving our websites and portal
- Scope projects accurately to inform project planning timelines, from asking clarifying questions to remove ambiguity, to proactively identifying risks and alternative solutions
- Lead engineering implementations from start to finish, keeping team members and stakeholders informed about progress and potential risks
- Monitor and optimize website performance, including page load times, mobile responsiveness, and overall user experience through tools such as DataDog
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies; research and advocate for new technology and new methodologies
- Identify and advocate for automation and opportunities to smartly leverage AI
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, designers, agency partners, and data analysts to take an idea from concept to technical design to implementation to testing to measurement
- Collaborate with stakeholders cross-functionally to determine what the underlying problems and needs are to build the right solution
What You Bring To The Team:
- 5+ years of practical development experience with a heavy emphasis on the technical side
- Experience in planning and developing websites across multiple products and organizations
- Extensive knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services — including API, CSS, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, security principles, REST, SOAP, and web user interface design
- Proficiency with content management systems
- Experience in e-commerce applications and development
- Experience in implementing web development workflows and operations using a variety of tools, including GitHub
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thoughtfully question ideas and other requests
