At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet.

We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.

Role Overview:

SecondShop is seeking a results-driven B2B Business Development Representative to join our team and drive the growth of our wholesale partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and nurturing relationships with companies to sell SecondShop’s products, expand our market reach, and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, a strong understanding of wholesale distribution channels, and a passion for building long-term, profitable partnerships.

This role is located in Burlington, Ontario. Applicants must be located in Burlington, or willing to commute.

What you'll be doing:

  • Target potential clients, including distributors, retailers, and other relevant businesses, to promote and sell SecondShop’s products.
  • Support the sales team in identifying and implementing efficiency improvements in sales and partnership processes.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, moving opportunities from initial contact to successful partnership agreements.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Sales Lead, including scheduling, follow-ups, and general communication.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure mutually beneficial deals that support long-term growth for both SecondShop and new partners.
  • Prepare and manage contracts, partnership agreements, and relevant documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of SecondShop’s evolving product offerings, ensuring the ability to effectively present, explain, and promote products to future partners.

Who we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development and B2B account management, with a proven track record of successfully acquiring and managing new accounts is required.
  • Experience working with wholesale clients in a product-driven environment, ideally in liquidation for retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods.
  • Existing relationships with key buyers in relevant markets and industries is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with partners and close deals effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline, and meet/exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and effectively present SecondShop’s value proposition to potential partners.

What we offer:

  • A competitive base salary with performance-based incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Access to exclusive discounts on SecondShop products for yourself and your family.
  • As a growing startup, SecondShop offers ample opportunities to take on new challenges, contribute to shaping the company’s future, and take ownership of key initiatives.
  • Join a passionate and mission-driven team that values collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to sustainability and responsible shopping.
  • Align with a company that believes in sustainability, smart spending, and improving the lives of Canadians. You'll have the chance to make an impact every day!
