Your role?

The Controller is the financial backbone of iFinance Canada keeping the numbers sharp, the reports spotless, and the strategy forward-looking. Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, you’ll take charge of all things accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, ensuring our operations run with precision and purpose. You’ll lead a talented finance team, roll up your sleeves to streamline processes, and play a key role in driving the company’s growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations and the preparation of accurate, timely monthly financial statements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of all accounting processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Support and mentor the finance team under your supervision, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve and streamline financial and operational processes.
  • Lead and support the implementation of new projects, ensuring thorough testing, validation, and smooth integration with existing financial processes.
  • Lead the upcoming implementation and seamless integration of our new loan management system and administrative platform.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, compliance with IFRS standards, and the integrity of all financial data.
  • Support external audits and maintain effective communication with auditors, lenders, and partners.

Work Arrangement:

This role is 5 days in the office, with 1 day per week optional to work from home, offering flexibility while keeping the team connected and collaborative.

What We’re Looking For:

  • CPA designation or relevant experience your professional credentials and expertise give confidence to the team and stakeholders.
  • Team coaching experience you know how to mentor and develop talent to help the team thrive.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills you can guide your team and work seamlessly across departments.
  • Solid knowledge of the full accounting cycle from day-to-day operations to month-end and year-end reporting.
  • Finance and lending fundamentals understanding the basics of lending and financial services. 
  • IFRS experience an asset helping ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
