As the Enterprise Architect, you will play a critical role in enabling RAC to deliver on it’s purpose by ensuring the organisation’s capabilities, structures, processes and technologies are strategically aligned and future fit. 

Through enterprise-wide collaboration and governance, you will act as a translator of RAC’s business strategy into actionable architectural blueprints and roadmaps that will drive organisational transformation. This role bridges the gap between strategic intent and operational execution, aligning business capabilities, operating models and technology to deliver sustainable competitive advantage. 

This role will initially be offered as a two-year maximum-term opportunity.

What will you be doing? 

  • Leading the development and execution of RAC’s enterprise architecture strategy and mandate, ensuring alignment with strategic direction and regulatory obligations.  
  • Creating and maintaining the documentation, policies and protocols supporting architectural models, standards and guiding principles whilst acting as a trusted advisor on strategic planning, investment prioritisation and risk management.
  • Defining enterprise architecture principles and facilitating governance forums to guide decision-making, drive alignment, and ensure compliance across the organisation.  
  • Developing and maintaining the business capability model in collaboration with stakeholders, embedding it into strategic planning and investment decisions.  
  • Designing and evolving enterprise-wide architecture frameworks across business processes, data, infrastructure and technology, with governance, reviews and advisory support to ensure adherence.  
  • Collaborating with high-performing business and technology matrix teams on the end-to-end technology landscape, evaluate emerging trends solutions that drive innovation, agility and operational excellence.
  • Building influential relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to executives on, investment prioritisation, sequencing of key initiatives and risk management.  

What are we looking for in you? 

  • Proven experience translating organisational strategy into enterprise-wide capability and architecture plans, applying and evolving architecture frameworks, leading governance forums, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and risk requirements within complex, regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and embedding business capability models to inform strategic planning, prioritisation and investment decisions.  
  • Strong experience coordinating and sequencing enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring architecture is embedded across project and change delivery. 
  • Proven understanding of how applications, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, integration and emerging technologies come together to enable better business outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with, and influencing high-performing, matrixed teams.
  • Broad technical capability across enterprise architecture domains (infrastructure, applications, data, security), with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to drive understanding and buy-in. 
  • A tertiary qualification in technology, business, engineering or a related discipline, complemented by enterprise architecture certification (e.g. TOGAF, CEAP, Zachman).
